The kids race has been a great addition to the Sleepy Hollow Mtn Race. Initially we designed this race as an event for the kids of racers, race directors and volunteers. But when we moved the race to Cochran’s we decided to open it to the community.
Free for all kids, but we would like everyone to register online ahead of time if possible, so we know how many kids to expect. Kids may register day of race. Visit our Registration page for full details.
Start Time: 11:15am
Mini Goats (suggested ages 2-5years old) start at 11:15
Mtn Goat Kids (suggested age 6-14) – 1 lap and 2 lap races start together at 11:25
Registration and Bib Pickup: 10:30am – 11:00am on the lower deck between the parking lot and base of ski trails.
Prizes: All kids will a snack as a prize at the finish line. This year it’s a choice between an Untapped Waffle or Pirate’s Booty.
Kids Race Course: Start and Finish for all kids race is at the lower deck between the parking lot and ski trails.
The Mini Goats course will be a very short race that goes a little ways alpine ski trails and right back down.
The Mtn Goat Kids 1 and 2 lap races go out and around Rock n’ Roll trail (two lap race will go around a second time), then run back the same way to the finish line at the wooden platform. The beginning of this course is out in the open, then quickly goes up a hill and into the woods on a single track.
We encourage parents to get out on the course and cheer on all the runners.
Distance Options:
Mini Goat – 100m up and down the ski hill
1 lap – 1km trail race
2 lap – 1.6km trail race
Timing and Results: We will have a large digital race clock at the finish line, so runners can see their time if they would like. We do not do results for any of our kids races.
