Registration is closed for 2020

Registration is closed. We reached our max capacity of 300 registrants today! While we wish we could have an unlimited amount of runners come run at Sleepy Hollow, we have a responsibility to stay within the capacity of the parking lot and respect the impact on the trails during Vermont’s mud season. Thank you for understanding. This is an amazing and privileged problem to have. We are humbled by all the devotion you show every year for our event with all its mud, hills, galactic characters, and burrito fixings!

There are no refunds, no waitlist.

There is no day of race registration.

Number pickup is on race day from 10:30am-11:45am in the pavilion at Sleepy Hollow.
Sleepy Hollow is located at 427 Ski Lodge Drive, Huntington, VT 05462

Please check the race website for updates on mud season road conditions and race updates.

We encourage everyone to carpool, whether it’s all the way from home or from the Richmond Park and Ride just of 89 in Richmond, VT.

We look forward to seeing you at the race.

Registration Opens Saturday

It took some time, but the race course is now sufficiently buried in snow. . . I guess that means it must be time to open race registration.

Registration opens this Saturday, February 15th at 7:00am.

Driving and Weather Update

We are recommending that people access Sleepy Hollow from the Huntington end of Sherman Hollow Road. Swamp Road, coming from Hinesburg, is currently very… swampy.
Please also be aware that there is a flood watch in effect throughout the entire state of Vermont for Friday night through Sunday. While Sleepy Hollow is not expected to be directly affected, there is the potential for road closures on your drive here. Two good sources of information to keep an eye on:

Course Conditions – Updated

UPDATED Thursday 4/18: The ground is softening. The first climb up Butternut Cabin Trail is looking to rival the mud pit conditions of 2014. The frost has still not worked it’s way out of the ground entirely, so there is potential for creating sink holes with your feet on the ski trail sections of the course. This can largely be avoided by staying on the edges of the trail where there is more sure footing. There are currently three sections of course (Liberty Meadow Trail, lower Tina Turner, and bits of Molly’s Meadow) that are holding onto a crust of snow, but it is possible to run on and around. The single track and southern-facing exposed sections of trail are in the best shape, and provide some respite from the slop. With temps in the upper 60s and forecasted rain, expect foot sucking mud. Tie those shoe laces tight!

Photos from some morning course marking/fun running on Wednesday 4/17. Some green, some snow, some sink holes. The forecast calls for more mud. [Top left, Eli Enman struggling to make it through his 42nd birthday – Happy Birthday old man!]

Withdrawal Deadline Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that if you need to withdraw, tomorrow, Friday April 12, is the last day to do so if you want to get a refund. We don’t know why you would want to though – it’s shaping up to be an epic course condition year!
