February Race Update

Hello Racers and Friends,

A celebration – This is the 10th Sleepy Hollow Mountain Race! We founded the race in 2012 (no race in ‘20 and ‘21 for covid) as a way to share the trails we love in Northwest Vermont with the New England mountain running community. Thank you for coming out over the years through mud, frost heaves, rain and shine!

We have tallied a list of streakers and it looks like 8 of  you have done all 9 of our races: Arthur (Nick) Bellerive, Kimberly Bellerive, Todd Brown, Chris Corradino, Eli Enman, Gene Fahey, Jeff Gould and Richard Stockdale. Congratulations to this impressive crew! If you think you are a Sleepy Hollow streaker, please reach out so we can make sure we haven’t missed you.

A big change – The race will be held at a new location for 2023, the Cochran’s Ski Area in nearby Richmond, VT. We’re not sure if this change is temporary or permanent. The Cochran Family may not be world mountain running champions, but they are a multigenerational family of Olympians. Counted in their ranks is a gold medalist in women’s slalom from the ‘72 Winter Games. The Cochran’s know about navigating steep hills. We are grateful to have a second family owned small ski area nearby so that, even when we run into tricky scheduling conflicts, we can still host  a fun race for you all! Learn more about the new course on our website.
