Race Update Emial

Hello Registered Runner-

The Sleepy Hollow Mountain Race is a day away and we look forward to seeing you at Sleepy Hollow!

We have a couple of important updates about the race.

This is a reminder that the Sleepy Hollow Mtn Race will also serve as the USATF-NE Mountain Championships.  To score in the championship you need to have a current USATF membership.  The 2013 Membership numbers start with a “7”.  If you have a number that starts with an ‘8’ or ‘6’, that’s old number and you need to renew your membership before the race on Sunday.

If you have a new USATF number please send us an email (lizhollenbach@hotmail.com) and we will update the registration list.  Do NOT email if you already submitted your 2013 USATF # through online registration.  The email Subject: USATF #.  Include your first and last name and USATF #.

Here are a couple links that will help you determine your USATF number status.
1.  Look up your membership number: https://www.usatf.org/membership/reports/events/index.asp   (if no result returns, it means you do not have a current membership)
2.  Renew or join:  http://www.usatf.org/Products—Services/Individual-Memberships.aspx

Course Condition Update

Northwest Vermont has been dry, warm and sunny all week.  We expect this weather trend to continue through race day.  Most of the course is dry and there are a couple small sections of mud and wet. Course Maps/Info

Water Station
There will be two water stations providing water and sports drink at 1 mile, 3 mile and 4 mile.  Note that the water station at 3 mile is at the same place as the 1 mile water station.  At 3 mile it is on a downhill and can be challenging to access.  The 4 mile water station is in the field with the lap and finish.

Staying at Sleepy Hollow
The Inn is fully booked, but
camping is available at Sleepy Hollow and there are also lean-tos.  The camping in Molly’s Meadow is marked with signs.  Other close towns to stay in include, Shelburne, Williston and Waterbury (depending on the direction you are traveling from).

Fun Awards
In addition to all the usual suspects, such as “age group” and “first to the finish line”, we have come up with  a few more competitive opportunities including Muddiest Finisher (or dustiest), Battle of the States and King of the Mountain Preme. Click here for more info.
